This session will discuss how the use of the web tool, Nearpod, can support synchronous or asynchronous learning environments that engage students in meaningful interactions with course content, the instructor, and fellow students. Audience members will use their smart devices to engage in the presentation using Nearpod. After highlighting research and best practices for meaningful student engagement in online learning, participants will see a completed Nearpod in which pre-recorded video, voice-over, and links to interactive tools are demonstrated. The presentation will provide the foundation for audience interaction and questions. A "How To" document that includes basic steps for getting started and links to web tools demonstrated in the presentation will be provided to audience members.
