Sherri Newberry In this digital age filled with beeps, tweets, and texts, it can be difficult to focus enough to carry out a complete thought, much less think deeply. A clear, focused mind is the starting point for student engagement and critical thinking, but with digital diversions and associated rising anxiety levels, students can have difficulty just getting started. Sometimes, all they need to do is breathe. In this session we will explore leading causes of student distraction and learn how to use short, simple breathing practices to help students prepare to focus for engagement and critical thinking in any discipline. Sometimes, we all need to just take a deep breath.
